I was in New World New Plymouth this week and there it was, at the end of the store after the checkouts: a Clubcard recycling bin built from soft plastics collected in supermarkets just like this one.

ย

Foodstuffs have rolled these out across New World and Pak 'n Save, 185 stores and counting. Drop your old red Clubcard in the box and it comes back to us at saveBOARD in Hamilton, New Zealand, where it gets turned into building material. Some of it will end up back in the same stores.

ย

Scan the QR code on the bin and you land on a page we built just for this, video of the whole process, a gallery of where the material's ended up. So far, weโ€™ve processed 1,500kg of sticky tags for Foodstuffs which creates the circle from a packaging problem, into a product that they can use.

ย

Got an old red Clubcard sitting in your wallet? You know what to do.
