Those metal plant trolleys at Bunnings, Mitre 10 and Palmers Garden Centres, the ones holding seedlings before they go on sale, are getting a material upgrade. There's a good chance the panels are our 2Faced product, made from the same soft plastics you're dropping off at the supermarket bin.
The panels used to be imported plywood. They lasted 1 to 2 years before needing replacing, plywood doesn't hold up well in a wet, start delaminating in this high-turnover retail environment. Over the next few years we're replacing around 18,000 of these panels with locally collected, locally manufactured 2Faced, made from recycled soft plastics.
Same job, better durability, locally made from material that was headed for landfill instead of shipped in from overseas. Next time you're walking past the seedlings, have a look between the plants forย saveBOARD.
